Chief Financial Officer
Work location: Anchorage
GoNorth Travel, LLC is a family owned Tourism company with a large RV and SUV rental fleet with branches in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Seattle and Whitehorse. We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to take over the responsibilities of our current CFO. The CFO has a day-to-day, ongoing impact on company operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, and grow our financial position. As a member of senior management, the CFO will be comfortable in a leadership role that requires clear and effective communication skills.
Objectives of this role
- Take responsibility (either directly or via staff) for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, and help drive the company’s financial strategy and hiring needs
- Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organization
- Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows
Responsibilities
- Process Payroll and file all related information returns for employees in 2 US states and the Yukon Territory in Canada, complying with all applicable local / state laws, including Worker’s Comp reporting and auditing
- Prepare and file rental tax returns for the operations in Alaska and Washington as well as GST tax returns for Canada
- Manage all insurance related aspects of the business properties as well as our rental fleet
- Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement
- Manage HR operations by coordinating with internal staff responsible for other aspects of HR
- Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for the management team
- Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities
Required skills and qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in related fields
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
- Strong computer skills (proficient in MS applications)
- Profound bookkeeping skills (QuickBooks Desktop a must, dual currency, inter-company entries)
- Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work
- Valid Driver’s license, clean driving record
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business accounting, or finance

Service Shop Administrator
Work location: Anchorage

GoNorth Travel, LLC, is a family-owned medium size company with branches in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Seattle, and Whitehorse Canada. We need help with administrative support for our Service, Parts and Warranty departments. Experience in all 3 fields is an advantage; however we are willing to train the right person.
What we expect
Provide a high level of service to internal and external parts customers. Pull and fill orders from stock. Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention. Locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submit an emergency order, if necessary.
The Service Writer/Service Advisor needs to effectively communicate customer needs to service technicians. First and foremost, they must be able to clearly explain to customers what repairs should be performed and why – without confusing them. Collect payment and ensure customer is advised of the progress of work being performed.
Submit warranty claims to the manufacturer and track their progress; follow up with manufacturer to resolve any outstanding issues or delays. Maintain detailed records of all warranty work, including parts, labor, and claim status, ensuring accurate documentation for audit purposes.
Minimum qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Highly proficient in English (speaking, writing and reading)
- Computer skills
- Ability to work independently and with highest accuracy within required time frame
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Clean and valid Driver’s license
- Good team player
Schedule
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Key responsibilities
Support the station manager in:
- Supervision of all staff working at the Seattle branch
- Quality Assurance of sales and rental vehicles
- Managing the lobby counter and customer flow
- Familiarizing customers with the product (including rental and ‘for sale’ vehicles)
- Ensuring GoNorth policies are understood by staff, guests, and service providers
- Interfacing with customers and coordinating with vendors, and staff at other GoNorth branches directly and through various media to ensure active communication and excellent customer service is provided and vendor relationships are maintained
- Liaising with the service department and housekeeping staff, prioritizing tasks based on company needs
- Data entries and reviews along with maintaining accurate physical files
- Timely ordering of supplies through proper channels and maintaining required stock levels
- Annual station inventory

Requirements
- Driver’s License (clean driving record)
- Ability to pass ongoing random drug testing
- Understanding of software and database applications, as well as basic understanding of hardware

Reservations Supervisor, Whitehorse Station
Job Type: Full-time (35 – 40 hrs), year round

GoNorth Travel, LLC is a family owned Tourism company with a large RV and SUV rental fleet. We are looking for a highly motivated multilingual Reservations Supervisor for our Whitehorse station. Please note that housing is not provided.
Responsibilities of the Reservations Supervisor include
- Answer questions in person, on the phone and by email in English, German and French;
- Welcome guests to GoNorth and collecting guests’ arrival and departure information;
- Hire, train and lead a small rental staff team during the rental season;
- Oversee getting the rental units ready to GoNorth standard in time for the guests and assist wherever needed, including detailing and housekeeping;
- Coordinate workflow with RV technicians and mechanics;
- Keep the station clean and presentable at any given time;
- Complete quality check before handing out vehicles;
- Explain and hand out vehicles to customers in English, German and French;
- Explain rental agreement to customers in English, German and French;
- Evaluate returned vehicles;
- Enter all relevant information into in-house database;
- Accept payments and process refunds to guests;
- Coordinate procedures with Rental and Station Managers company wide;
- Report directly to COO, CFO and CEO;
- And other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Excellent English and German language skills (reading, writing, speaking)
- Fluid in French (reading, writing, speaking)
- Experience in similar operations
- Excellent guest service, communications skills and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills (proficient in MS Office applications)
- Ability to work independently and with highest accuracy within required time frames
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Must be able to work shifts, weekends, and holidays during rental season
