Driving along the Parks Highway, there is a really nice area to stop and go for a short or longer walk: the K’esugi Ken Campground. Read more about why our Alaska & Yukon specialist Irene recommends you to stop there and why it is worth taking out your hiking boots.
My Favorite Spots for Lunch in Fairbanks
I’ve lived in Fairbanks for over 28 years… As many people who live in a town for many years I do not often eat out. I have, however, a couple favorites.
“The Crepery” — (closed Mondays) :
A great spot for lunch in Fairbanks. Located right in Downtown, with indoor and outdoor seating, the Crepery is a perfect set up for a lunch or coffee break. They have great variety of crepes to choose from. My personal favorite is the Crepe Provence with fresh basil, brie cheese, prosciutto and fresh tomatoes. And if you fancy something else, they also have a stuffed crab avocado that is delicious.
The Crepery is located at 523, 2nd Ave in Fairbanks.
By the way… In downtown Fairbanks we have several big mural arts and the one at the Crepery is very nice.
LemonGrass — (closed Sundays) :
If you like Thai food this is the place… The food is amazing. In summer, they use locally grown vegetables and their curry dishes are amazing. The LemonGrass is open for Dinner and Lunch, however, you may want to call ahead for dinner on the weekend as they get very busy. You will find few tourists there and more locals — it is our best kept secret in Fairbanks.
They are located on the West side of town, at 388 Old Chena Pump Rd.
