Daytrip from/to Homer
Enjoy a cruise to Seldovia, just 15 miles across Kachemak Bay from Homer but in a world of its own, a small coastal community oozing with old-Alaska charm

This is the opportunity of a lifetime to visit the Alaska Coastal Brown Bears in their natural environment. We propose you tours with float planes or with a wheel plane.
Where the brown bears meet the salmon, Brooks Falls is famous for its density of brown bears catching Alaska’s wild salmon.
This tour offers an up-close opportunity to view Alaska brown bears enjoying their summer feast in Katmai National Park. Enjoy 7 to 8 hours of your day flying and viewing one of the largest mammals in North America.
You’ll spend 4 hours at Brooks Camp, to get to the falls it is approximately 1 and a half miles to the main viewing platforms (there might be a waiting list in place at the falls platform). Along the way, it is a combination of gated walkways, bridges, and maintained gravel trails. At Brooks Falls the bear viewing is self-guided. When you arrive, your pilot will walk you to the ranger station where you will attend and graduate from “Bear School”.
Duration: 7-8 hours total, 4 hours on the ground. Float planes.

Departing from Homer in a Cessna 206s, you fly either to Lake Clark National Park or Katmai National Park.
After approximately 45 minutes to an hour, you will begin descending into one of the most remote national parks. Here you will spend 3 hours on the ground viewing bears with your pilot, who is also your trained naturalist bear guide.
Depending on the season you may find the Alaskan coastal brown bears in a few different areas. Being that eating food is one of their main priorities during the summer, between May and July, many of these bears are in the fields grazing on sedge grass, or if the tide is out, they are scavenging and digging for clams. Salmon typically start to run in the coastal areas around mid-July through the end of summer. On the way back, if weather allows, enjoy a scenic flight-see through the mountains and valleys.
The day tours depart Homer usually in the morning. The departure times vary between 7AM and 9AM,
depending on tides and weather. The exact departure time will be communicated the day prior when clients
check-in with Alaska Bear Adventures in Homer. On some days there are also afternoon departures. Wheeled planes.
