Day 1 Fairbanks
Arrival in Fairbanks, the Golden Heart City. Visit the state of the art visitors bureau situated at the Chena River. Go for a leisurely stroll along the river or opt for a guided river cruise on the sternwheeler.
Day 2 Fairbanks to MacLaren River Lodge (217 miles)
Leave Fairbanks on the Richardson Highway. You will get some close views of the famous Alaska pipeline that goes from Prudhoe Bay at the Arctic Ocean to Valdez at the end of the Richardson Highway. Enjoy the fantastic scenery on the way South, before you turn right and start your adventure on the Denali Highway. Driving this rough gravel road feels like a true expedition into wilderness, with amazing scenery, vast tundra, views of breathtaking snow-covered mountains.
Day 3 Denali Highway, MacLaren River Lodge
Enjoy a day in the wilderness on the Denali Highway. Whether you want to go hiking, fishing or canoeing. You will for sure have some amazing experiences.
Day 4 MacLaren River Lodge to Denali (121 miles)
On you go on this amazing rough road with million dollar views. From Cantwell you head north to Denali National Park.
Day 5 Denali National Park
Today your adventure in Denali National Park begins. Take the park’s transit bus to East Fork Bridge (4.5 hours), jump of the bus for a hike and start exploring. After your tour you may want to explore the entrance area on your own or add another activity – see our suggestions.
Day 6 Denali to Fairbanks (121 miles)
Enjoy the morning with more adventures in the park or surroundings.
A short, scenic drive on the Parks Highway takes you back to Fairbanks.
Day 7 Fairbanks
End of your tour. Return your SUV at the same time as picked up.
