Cross the Arctic Circle on this one day guided roundtrip journey by air and land. Travel on the rugged Dalton Highway and see the area from a bird’s view.

The tour includes a glacier landing right in the middle of Knik Glacier, where you can get out of the helicopter and spend about 30 minutes exploring ice thousands of years old with your pilot/guide. See the azure blue melt pools, crevasses and the bizarre ice formations created by water, wind and the sun.
With a departure from the base in the Knik Valley this tour offers great value for money. The Knik Glacier pops into view almost immediately after takeoff. On the tour you will enjoy views of the Knik Glacier, Colony Glacier and Lake George with its massive icebergs. The pilots know the area like few others, so they can share their unique knowledge of the topography and the local weather patterns and get you to the best “hidden gem” spots safely. Take pictures of the azure blue lakes on top of the glacier, the crevasses and ice ‘sculptures’ made by wind, sunshine, and time. Over 25 miles long and more than 5 miles wide, the Knik is one of the largest glaciers in South Central Alaska.
After about 15 minutes of flightseeing you land right in the middle of the Knik Glacier, where you get out of the helicopter and spend 30 minutes exploring with your pilot/guide. Crampons to safely hike on the ice are provided. After the hike board the helicopter for the flight back to the base. On the return trip the pilot usually stays low so that you can watch for moose in the river valley. Total tour time 2 hour / Flight time 30 minutes.
