For over 80 years, Sheep Mountain Lodge has hosted travelers from across Alaska and around the world. The Lodge is located along the scenic Glenn Highway, halfway between the towns of Palmer and Glennallen. The guests enjoy spectacular mountain views, local outdoor recreational activities, cabins with private bath and showers, delicious home cooked meals, and old fashioned Alaskan hospitality that has made Sheep Mountain Lodge famous. Extensive decks, greenhouses and flower gardens compliment the scenery. You can watch Dall Sheeps through the telescope, read on the deck of your cabin or relax in the hot tub after a day of traveling or hiking.

The Lodge

Sheep Mountain Lodge is located along the scenic Glenn Highway between Palmer and Glennallen, approximately 2 hours driving time from Anchorage. Guests enjoy spectacular mountain views, local outdoor recreational activities, cabins with private bath and showers, delicious home cooked meals and Alaskan hospitality. Extensive decks, greenhouses and flower gardens compliment the scenery.

The 7 cozy Classic Cabins have private bath/shower and overlook the scenic Matanuska River Valley. These cabins have a queen bed and a twin bed (1 cabin only has a queen bed), table, chairs, deck with chairs, small refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. Look for Dall Sheeps from the deck of your cabin on the nearby mountain-side.

The 4 beautifully handcrafted Premier Cabins have full kitchen and private bath/shower, overlook the scenic Matanuska River Valley. Each cabin has two queen beds and a full size pull out sleeper sofa, table, chairs, and a deck with chairs. Enjoy spectacular views of the Matanuska Valley and Chugach Mountains.

All cabins and the main lodge have free Wi-Fi! Cell service is poor, but internet is good. Enjoy the scenery and relax!

The Owners

2015 – Present Local couple Mark & Ruthann Fleenor bought the lodge. They are a so excited to continue the tradition of sharing the beauty of Glacier View with all who stop by. Mark enjoys flying in his 1961 Piper Super Cub bush plane as much as possible. Ruthann Fleenor enjoys keeping the lodge famous for its amazing flowers.

The lodge will offer a first hand experience of home-grown Alaskan hospitality!
