Arctic Circle Winter Aurora Fly/Drive Southbound

Day Tour from/to Fairbanks

This tour provides an opportunity to experience Alaska’s Arctic by air one way and guided ground tour the other way. You will be able to combine that with the chance to look for the Aurora Borealis as the skies begin to darken.

Tour Summary

  • Fly from Fairbanks to Coldfoot, north of the Arctic Circle in the Brooks Mountain Range. The flight provides an aerial view of the vast Alaska wilderness.
  • Ground tour south on the Dalton Highway, made famous during the construction of the Trans Alaska Pipeline.
  • Cross the Arctic Circle and receive an official Arctic Circle Adventure Certificate.
  • Experience the mighty Yukon River. Marvel at the majestic beauty of the northland’s most famous waterway and learn of the river’s storied past.
  • Stop in Joy Alaska at the Arctic Circle Trading Post which will become your stop for scanning the darkened skies for the Aurora. The location is 60 miles outside of Fairbanks away from the city lights.
