Scout Adventure Truck Camper 4×4

The Scout Adventure Truck Camper is the living area (the camper unit) mounted on the loading platform of a 4-wheel drive truck. This versatile truck camper is designed for adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts – and perfect for boondocking (off-grid camping). Gravel roads allowed without surcharge.

Our 4×4 Scout Adventure Truck Campers come with the amenities needed for adventures in the North, including a cooler box and a stove. We recommend it for two adults. This camper does not have a shower or toilet in the cabin. Portable toilet available for purchase.

Scout Adventure Truck Campers are available at all stations, and we allow one-way rentals.

Scout Adventure Truck Camper 4×4 Rental Rates

Your daily rental rate depends on the amount of miles you want to include. You have the option to include no miles, 100 miles per day or unlimited miles. If you choose one of the first two options, you can add as many miles as you want either pre or post paid. See Optional Charges for more details.

Cancellation Policy

We require a 25% non-refundable down payment to secure a reservation. In the event of cancellation this 25% down payment serves as cancellation fee.

Charges

Mandatory Charges

Purchase of the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is required for all confirmed reservations, unless all drivers have proof of valid US insurance covering the rented unit(s).

Proof of insurance must be provided and approved at least 72 hours prior to pick up date. Please mention during booking if you plan to provide your own insurance.

Damage to glass and tires is not included nor is road-hazard damage. Damage inflicted to other vehicles and/or objects or injuring a person or pet or any other assets due to backing up, as well as damage to the roof, is NOT included with purchase of CDW! CDW reduces responsibility for damage to $2000 per incident. A security deposit of $2000 will be charged upon pick up.

The preparation fee includes in-depth cleaning and sanitation above industry standards. All units are subject to a thorough 98 point mechanical and maintenance check before each rental. In addition, all truck campers and motorhomes come equipped with our Standard Equipment.

Please note that all vehicles must be returned with a full tank of gasoline and both propane tanks filled.

Depending on your pick up location, the taxes shown will be added to the rental rate as well as all mandatory and optional charges.

We allow one-way rentals between all our rental stations. There is a mandatory one-way fee, unless you have taken advantage of one of our one-way specials. The fee depends on the chosen pick up and return station during booking.

Optional Charges

The VIP is available in conjunction with the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) only. It includes road-hazard damage to glass and tires (after security deposit is met) and further reduces responsibility for both road-hazard and collision damage to $1000 per incident. It also reduces the security deposit to $1000 (charged upon pick up).

Maximum charge: $350 per rental

The VIP+ is available in conjunction with the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and VIP only. It offers peace of mind coverage, including lockout service, lost key replacement, emergency towing (first 50 miles), jump start, and flat tire change using spare tire (tire cost excluded). GoNorth covers up to a maximum of $500 for roadside assistance. The VIP+ further reduces the security deposit to $500 (charged upon pick up).

SLI provides excess third-party liability insurance over the renter’s primary personal insurance policy or over GoNorth’s renter’s liability insurance up to a maximum combined single limit of US $ 300’000.00.

PAC provides accidental death, accident medical and accident ambulance expense benefits to renter and passengers up to an aggregate limit of US $ 225’000.00.

PPC offers protection against damage to personal effects owned by the renter and immediate family members who are traveling with the renter and reside in the same household up to the aggregate limit of USD 1’800.00. Benefit limit per person: USD 600.00.

No charge for the first two drivers. Every additional driver will be charged extra.

3rd and every additional driver: $10 per rental period

Kitchen Kit: $120 per vehicle
Personal Kit: $75 per person

You can prepay as many 100 mile packages as you like in addition to the mileage plan of your rental rate. Please note that prepaid miles are not refundable should you not use them. It is also possible to post pay any driven miles at a rate of $0.59 per mile.

100 mile package: $49 per package

Additional rental items for your Truck Camper such as axe, MIFI, GPS etc. can be added during the online check-in process.

Potential Additional Charges at Return

Extra miles driven over prepaid mileage will be charged.  No refund for unused prepaid miles.

4×4 truck camper: $0.59/mile

A per hour delay fee is charged for returns after the contracted return time. If you wish to return the vehicle later than the designated time or earlier than 10am, this must be arranged in advance. After approval, the fee will be $35/hour.

A cleaning fee may be applied for any dirt accumulation in any of these areas:

Exterior of the vehicle, interior of the truck camper cab (vehicle part), interior of the truck camper living space. The severity of dirt accumulation determines the final charge for the cleaning.

  • Interior Truck Camper cab cleaning: up to $85 (does not include fish/odors/smoke/pet)
  • Interior Truck Camper cleaning: up to $150 (does not include fish/odors/smoke/pet)
  • Exterior Truck Camper cleaning: up to $150
  • Fish or other odors each $250
  • Smoke smell in vehicle $250
  • Pets in vehicle: $250 + any damage (subject to estimate) and excessive cleaning charge.

The exact charge is determined by the condition the vehicle is returned in and the time required to clean the rental unit for the next guest. Damages, odors, and stains will be assessed separately.

Fees are subject to change without notice, for verification refer to your rental contract or inquire with our rental staff.

The gas tank of the vehicle must be completely filled at the time of vehicle return. Please be aware that in cases of vehicle returns with a less than full fuel tank, GoNorth charges guests the fuel.

Chips in glass: $150 per chip

Cracks in windshield: min. $550 per crack and up to max. $650 for windshield replacement.

Tires destroyed: up to $350 per tire (based on vehicle type/tire/remaining tire tread left)

Other damages are subject to an estimate (third party appraisal).

The bills total will be charged including any processing and/or late fees.

4×4 Scout Adventure Truck Campers are available in Seattle year-round. No pick up between December 1st and March 1st in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Whitehorse. November and March pick ups are possible under certain conditions on a case-by-case basis. Winter Rental Rules apply.
